What Makes It a Troll Game
In most platformers, what you see is what you get. In Level Devil, the level changes as you play. A pit opens just as you step on a tile, spikes slide out of the floor, or the exit runs away. You learn each trick by falling for it once. The fun is in that surprise, and in finally beating a level that fooled you five times.
Controls
| Action | PC / Chromebook | iPad / tablet |
|---|---|---|
| Move and jump | Arrow keys | On-screen buttons |
The controls are shown on screen, and in 2 player mode each player gets their own keys.
Levels and Rounds
There are 15 levels plus a final boss level, for 16 challenges in total. Each level has its own danger, like pits in Level 1 and spikes in Level 2. You also have to clear each level several times, and every new round makes the same trap harder. It is the same map, but never quite the same challenge.
Tips to Survive the Devil
- Walk, don't sprint. Moving slowly gives you time to react when the floor changes.
- Remember every trick. The traps come back in later rounds.
- Jump early near suspicious tiles.
- Laugh at the fails. Getting angry makes your timing worse.
Playing With 2 Players
Choose 2 Player on the title screen to play together. It turns the frustration into a party: one player finds the trap, the other learns from it, and you both cheer when you finally reach the door.
Is Level Devil Good for Kids?
Yes. It is a simple pixel platformer with no blood and no chat. It can be frustrating on purpose, so it suits kids who enjoy a challenge. More advice for families is on our Information for Parents page. For independent age ratings and reviews of games, parents can also visit Common Sense Media.
