Play Dordle Online for Free
Dordle is a word game inspired by Wordle, with a twist: you solve two five-letter words at the same time. Every guess you type counts for both boards. Coloured tiles tell you which letters are right, which are in the word but in the wrong place, and which are not there at all. It is free and runs in your browser.

Dordle was created by Guilherme S. Töws as a fan game based on Wordle by Josh Wardle. There is a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, plus a free mode for extra practice.
How Dordle Works
Two hidden words, one set of guesses. Each guess must be a real five-letter word, and it is checked against both boards. You have a limited number of guesses to solve both words, so every guess has to work hard.

What the Colours Mean
- Green: the right letter in the right spot.
- Yellow: the letter is in the word, but in a different spot.
- Grey: the letter is not in that word.
Remember that the colours can be different on each board, because they are two separate words.
A Good Dordle Strategy
Start with words that use common letters, like vowels and letters such as R, S, T and L. Use your first two or three guesses to test as many different letters as possible. Once one board is almost solved, finish it, then put all your remaining guesses into the other one.
Daily and Free Modes
The daily Dordle is the same for every player, which makes it fun to compare results with friends or family. Free mode lets you play as many rounds as you like, perfect for practice.
Good Starting Words
Many players like to open with words that test common vowels and consonants at the same time, such as words containing A, E, R, S and T. A second guess with completely different letters, for example with O, I, N, L and C, quickly shows which letters are in each hidden word. After that, use the colours from both boards together: a letter that is grey on one board can still be yellow or green on the other. Writing down which letters are ruled out for each board can help a lot when you are learning the game.
Is Dordle Good for Kids?
Yes. It is a great word game for older kids, building spelling and vocabulary, with no violence or chat. More advice for families is on our Information for Parents page. For independent age ratings and reviews of games, parents can also visit Common Sense Media.
