How Burnout Drift Scoring Works
You get points for every successful drift, and longer drifts are worth more. While you keep sliding, a multiplier grows, so one long, clean drift can be worth more than many short ones. The catch: hit the side of the road and the multiplier resets. That is what makes every corner tense.
Controls
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Gas / brake | W / S or Up / Down |
| Steer | A / D or Left / Right |
| Handbrake | Space |
| NOS boost | F |
| Slow motion | Hold G |
| Gear up / down | Left Shift / Ctrl |
This is a keyboard game, so a computer or Chromebook works best.
How to Drift Better
- Brake before the corner, not in the middle of it.
- Tap the handbrake as you turn in to start the slide.
- Use small steering moves to hold the angle. Big moves spin you out.
- Feather the gas. Too much and you spin, too little and the drift ends.
- Look at the next corner, so you can link drifts together.
Holding G for slow motion is handy when you are learning a tricky corner. It gives you time to see exactly where the car starts to slide.
Upgrades and New Cars
Coins earned in each run can be spent on your car. You can adjust the suspension, body angle, paint and wheels, and save up for more powerful supercars. Better cars hold longer drifts, which means bigger scores and even more coins.
The Tracks
There are three drifting tracks, each with different weather and road layouts. Mountain hairpins are great for practising long drifts, while the faster sections test how well you can keep control at high speed.
Is Burnout Drift Good for Kids?
Yes. It is a non-violent driving game with no chat and no other players. It suits older kids best, because drifting takes practice. More advice for families is on our Information for Parents page. For independent age ratings and reviews of games, parents can also visit Common Sense Media.
